I went to Milan in November last year with Rob and two friends. It’s always limited what you can see over a weekend, but despite of this I feel like I saw most of what I wanted in/of the city. However, I wish I could visit Milan in a sunny weekend, since the grey weather, which hung over the city for the whole weekend, put a grey blanket over Milan and gave the city a slight cold sheen. But behind the grey façades there were a lot of small colourful cafes, where customers stood drinking espressos and eating tiny pastries. We visited a few of these and they are really the charm of the city. Despite the weather I had a really nice weekend – sometimes it's about who you are with, rather than where you are.
It's always good to have good travelling companions. I've been to cities when it's been dreary out and it always leaves a damper on an otherwise great city.
SvarSletIt really does. I'm always amazed by the effect weather has! But yes, then it's good to have friends around who can help bring some colours to the city!
SvarSletoooooh, milan! i went there 4 years ago and i really want to come back. good to see the city trough your eyes :)
SvarSlet@Paula: Nice. I would like to go back as well, when the weather is better. It's always interesting seeing a city you've been to through another persons eyes (/camera), it gives good perspectives :)
